Our Story

Colm and Dorothy met online in 2022 while they were both traveling, Dorothy was on an Hawaiian adventure and Colm was back in Ireland visiting family. They first exchanged many texts and facetimes before meeting in person in the Bay Area. Both knew immediately there was a special connection and quickly fell totally and hopelessly in love.

They had to endure a long distance relationship as Dorothy was working on her DMA in piano performance at Claremont Graduate University in Los Angeles but worked hard to cultivate their relationship through many facetime date nights and weekend visits when possible. Colm has always been a huge champion of Dorothy and her passion for music and attended all of her major concerts in LA and even traveled to Vienna to be with her during a music festival in Summer 2024!

Dorothy and Colm both are passionate about travel and took their first international trip to visit his lovely family in Ireland for Christmas 2022. During this first trip they also had the pleasure of traveling with friends to Budapest to attend a New Years Eve ball. Colm’s family made Dorothy truly feel like an O’Brien from the first Christmas together and she is so thrilled to officially become an O’Brien!

Suki the dog moved up with Colm full time in Spring 2024 and has completely wrapped him around her little paw. Suki, Colm and Dorothy now are living very happily in Marin County, California and enjoy hiking through the redwoods, road trips along the coast and visiting their favorite wineries.
