What is the dress code?
The dress code is black tie optional: gentleman are welcome to wear tuxedos or dark suits with a tie. Ladies are welcome to wear full length gowns or elevated tea length dresses. White and white adjacent colors are reserved for the bride.
Members of the wedding party are required to wear black tie(tuxedos and full length gowns).
Is there parking available at the hotel?
Yes there is parking and guests are able to come and go as they please.
What is the best way to get from Dublin to Marlfield House?
For guests coming from abroad: We have secured a private bus that will be leaving from The Mespil Hotel in Dublin at 1PM on May 27th and will take guests directly to Marlfield. The bus will return from Marlfield back to The Mespil Hotel at noon on Mayth 29th.
Marlfield House is located a little over an hour from Dublin, traffic permitting, and travel by car is the most convenient method of transport. There is a direct train from Dublin Pearse Station to Gorey, Wexford. If taking the train you will then need to secure a taxi or rideshare to travel the one mile distance to Marlfield House. There is a bus from Dublin Airport Zone 14 to Gorey Mainstreet. Taking the bus will also require a taxi/ride share to travel the one mile distance to Marlfield House. Private car hires will be around €200+ each way if hiring a driver.
What airport should I arrive at?
Dublin Airport is the closest airport to travel from.
Are there direct flights from the US to Dublin?
There are direct flights from many cities in the US. For the West Coast, there are direct flights from LA, San Francisco and Seattle through Aer Lingus. For the East Coast there are direct flights through New York, Newark, Boston, Washington D.C. and Chicago through various airlines.

When should we book our hotel rooms?
As soon as you have your travel dates, May is a popular tourist season for Ireland.
Will there be any events in Dublin before the wedding?
Yes, we will be in Dublin before the wedding and will be scheduling a high tea and whiskey tasting for the bachelor/bachelorette party. For more information about the high tea/whiskey tasting bacherlorette/bachelor party on May 26th, 2026 please refer here!
Are there any events post wedding?
We will be leaving for our honeymoon after the wedding and therefore are unable to schedule any events after the wedding.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, please include any restrictions in the RSVP. Dorothy has several dietary restrictions herself and the venue is very accomodating.
Will drinks be provided at the wedding?
Coffee and tea will be provided on arrival for the welcome reception. During the drinks reception guests may have their choice of beer, prosecco or gin & tonic. During dinner, red and white wine will be provided and a champagne toast will be included with the speeches. If guests wish to purchase drinks outside of this, the well stocked library bar can provide you with your desired beverage.
What about soft drinks?
Soft drinks are available for purchase at the bar. For American guests-in the US, bars often provide non-alcoholic drinks free of charge but this is not the case in Europe.
Will there be late night food service?
Yes, there will be a late night feast served at 11:30pm of Irish cheeses, bread, biscuits and jellies along with sandwiches.
When is last call for the bar?
Last call is at 1:30am.
Is there a smoking area?
Yes, there will be a covered outside smoking area.
Are there services in Gorey?
Yes, Gorey is a fully serviced town including cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops and hotels.
Does Marlfield offer corkage?
Corkage is not possible the night of the wedding, all drinks must be serviced through the bar.
May we bring our pet to your wedding?
No, we’re very sorry but the venu has strict rules in place surrounding weddings and pets. This is not our rule or choice, this is the venue’s rule.
